ON OUR RADAR

Go see Wicker !

Critics love this sexy fairytale produced by friends of TPC, Brent Steifl of Votiv (Belltown member) and Brad Zimmerman of Yoki, Inc.! It stars Olivia Colman, Peter Dinklage, and Alexander Skarsgård in an amazing full-body wicker costume that took two hours to put on. See it at SIFF Uptown, Majestic Bay in Ballard, or The Grand Cinema in Tacoma

Ember starts a new career! Book a massage today

Former TPC Ballard manager Ember has started a new career as a massage therapist at Sacred Rain. They approaches massage therapy as a practice of listening, meeting each client with curiosity, presence, and care. They believe our bodies carry the imprint of a life lived, shaped by experiences both tender and difficult, and that healing can begin when we feel safe enough to settle into ourselves.

Ember practices Swedish and myofascial techniques, with a particular interest in nervous system regulation and the ways therapeutic touch can foster a deeper sense of ease, connection, and well-being. Rather than imposing an agenda on each session, they listen and respond to what is present, allowing the work to unfold collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for each client. They received their massage therapy education at Discovery Point School of Massage and continue to approach their practice as both an art and an ongoing process of learning.

If you would like to book an appointment with them, they work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 3pm-8pm. Every massage comes with three hours of spa access!

NEIGHBORHOOD SPOTLIGHT

We Fix Old Stuff

I was excited to learn about this new repair shop in Ballard. It pains me to throw away things with a broken component that would otherwise be perfectly usable. Repairing things feels good. It’s rarely a worthwhile endeavor from a financial perspective, but it’s a middle finger to an economy built on consuming cheap garbage. I used to fix old stuff. Now more often, I let it sit in my garage and silently torment me. Now I can pay these fine folks to help me assuage my consumerist guilt.

They specialize in lighting, appliances, and glass and crystal work, but can also work on other pieces.

Visit their website or workshop at 4818 14th Ave NW Seattle, WA 98107
