FAQ

Mail Service / Virtual Address

Can I use the address as my mailing address?

Yes. The Pioneer Collective is a registered Commercial Mail Receiving Agent (CMRA) authorized by the United States Postal Service to process and handle mail on your behalf. In all states except Oregon, you can use a CMRA as your business mailing address. Make sure to put the full address, including your PMB on all mail.

Can I register my LLC at the address?

Yes. Members with Virtual Office Plus plans may register their Washington LLC using their virtual address. In this case, you will enter your virtual address in the Principal Office field and leave the PMB # off. A virtual address serves as a real physical address for LLC registration. PO Boxes and PMB are not accepted by the WA Secretary of State.

Can I list TPC as my registered agent?

Yes. Members with Virtual Office Plus may list TPC as their registered agent. More information about Registered Agent services in WA State can be found here.

Can I use this address for a Google My Business listing?

Unfortunately, no. As Google My Business uses the physical address of the business, Google does not recognize virtual mailboxes for these listings. TPC offers affordable private offices for companies requiring a physical presence.

How much is mail service / virtual membership?

For coworking members at TPC, mail service is a $50/month add-on. For non-coworking members the cost is $85/month for Virtual Office and $125 for Virtual Office Plus.

Why do I need to fill out a 1583 form?

In the United States, the U.S. Postal Service regulates how mail can be received and handled. USPS also dictates required procedures for commercial mail receiving agents (CMRAs) like us to follow. USPS Form 1583 authorizes a CMRA to receive mail on the customer’s behalf. The completed form is required before anyone can give you a mailbox.

What exactly is a CMRA?

A CMRA is a private business that accepts mail delivery from the Postal Service for others (addressee), holds it for pickup (in most cases a private mailbox (: PMB”) or re-mails it to another address with payment of new postage. The traditional storefronts like MAILBOXES ETC.,POSTNET, POSTAL ANNEX, AND PAKMAIL are easily recognized as a CMRA.

Do I need to include my Private Mailbox (PMB) number when I give out my address?

Yes. Please always include your PMB number whenever you give out your address. Think of it as an apartment number at a complex. Without this number, your address is not complete and it is much more likely mail will be returned or sorted incorrectly.

When will I be issued my PMB (Private Mail Box)#?
